Cliff Caldwell was born 12 February 1943. He began painting at the age of 12. He studied in further education art for seven years plus seven years private tuition. He could not obtain a position in art school at that time because of his dyslexia. He obtained a position as a commercial graphic artist at the age of 20. He was managing a commercial studio until he and his family moved to Cornwall.
Cliff and Carol, his wife, ran Leisure Painting Holidays for a number of years, and day and evening classes from their Studio home in Bray Shop, Cornwall. Plus Cliff's picture framing business. In May 1991 Cliff opened a shop in Callington, Cornwall known as Cliff Caldwell Art & Framing. He now runs his day and evening painting classes in Callington.Cliff has paintings in galleries in Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset. Since 1990 Cliff has been a sponsored Daler-Rowney demonstrator for Art Societies and In-store art demos,plus his own private demonstations in all mediums.
